Project overview: Energy efficiency upgrades to the historic Coliseum that is being revitalized as a hub for local small businesses owned by people of color, including immigrants, after it was damaged in the civil unrest following the murder of George Floyd. Nonprofit community developer, Redesign, Inc., is partnering with the community and three local Black-owned small businesses to ensure the building, now on the National Register of Historic Places, is a key part of the Longfellow neighborhood’s revitalization.

Project overview: Colman Yards is a multi-family complex that was built through the conversion of vacant historic industrial buildings in Rockford, IL. The project includes the development of 215 market-rate apartments consisting of studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. In addition, the property will also have over 15 thousand square feet of retail space on the ground floor. With the help of C-PACE, the building will be refurbished through masonry repair and window replacement while maintaining its historic look and reducing the heating and cooling loads significantly.

The hotel was closed in November 2005 after suffering water damage from Hurricane Wilma that year and has remained closed since. Upon completion of the restoration, The Gulfstream will be operated as an upper-upscale, full-service hotel to be associated with the Tribute Portfolio or Autograph Collection brand, and will feature 90 rooms, a restaurant and lounge, a pool, a fitness room, a business center, a gift shop, and vending areas.
