Investor Survey Results

Since 1998, we have conducted a survey of our investor base every other year. This survey is a part of our ongoing mission to better serve our investors by ensuring we understand their needs and interests. We use the results of these surveys internally to guide our work and we release the data publicly as a resource for the broader impact investing community.
Over time, the issues and sectors investors care about most have shifted, with investors’ focus on environmental issues becoming more pronounced each year. We saw that trend continue in our most recent survey, with environmental sustainability and renewable energy as the top two issues that investors said they cared about most. There was also a new addition to our investors top four concerns this year with 26% of respondents citing affordable housing as a top issue.
The survey found continued strong interest in impact investing. Over the next year, 56% of our investors said they plan to increase their impact investments and 83% of financial advisors reported they plan to increase the amount of impact investments in their clients’ portfolios.
